Our team consists of experienced executives, subject matter experts, and scholar-practitioners across multiple disciplinary fields with diverse expertise and deep business experience.
Richard has more than 30 years’ experience as a business executive with significant leadership experience in both consulting and corporate environments. As a business technology senior executive, Richard was the former Chief Information Officer (CIO) with Pfizer Consumer Healthcare. Rich was also the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Tyco International in Princeton, NJ. Prior to these roles, he was the CIO for Warner-Lambert Consumer Healthcare and held various senior IT leadership roles with IBM Corporation, Anchor Savings Bank, and National Westminster Bank, NA.
Richard is a Senior IT Strategy and Planning Consultant and executive coach. He consults to various Fortune 500 companies many industries including Warner-Lambert, Pernod Ricard, Citibank, National Westminster Bank, NA, Summit Bancorp, United Jersey Bank, Anchor Savings Bank, First Fidelity, First National of Central Jersey, Peapack Gladstone Bank, Somerset Savings & Loan, Valley National Bank, New Jersey Natural Gas, The State Theater of New Brunswick, LakeHouse Studio in Asbury Park, and Matrix Consulting, among others.
Richard exercises his philanthropic passion through several non-profit organization. Richard served on the board of directors of the American Red Cross of Central Jersey, and the board of Directors for the FISH Hospitality Program (homeless shelter) in Piscataway, NJ. Rich also provides technology advice to the Somerset Hills Learning Institute, a school for autism treatment in Bedminster NJ. President of AMA Charitable Foundation, LLC, a 501c3 non-profit whose focus is raising money for other non-profits, primarily for causes related to children and families.
Richard was a member of the board of directors for Optical Systems Inc, an Adjunct Professor at Raritan valley Community College, and a member of Business Executives for National Security. He speaks at conferences on IT strategy and mergers and acquisitions and has been a governing body co-chair for the New Jersey and NYC annual CIO Summits.
Hoynes holds a BA in Computer Science from Rutgers College, Rutgers University and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. Richard holds an Executive Coaching certificate from the Columbia Business School. Richard is also a member of the Advisory Board for Rutgers Business School.

Joe Schaffer is currently a Distinguished Executive In Residence at Rutgers Business School. Joe was formerly the Associate Dean of Executive Education and the Director of International Programs for the Rutgers Business School. In addition, to leading the Rutgers Business School’s Executive Education (RBSEE) unit he also oversaw RBS’s Executive MBA program in Singapore and executive education activities in China. An active member of the International University Consortium for Executive Education (UNICON), Schaffer has more than 30 years of corporate experience in leadership, management and international human resources. Prior to joining Rutgers, he was a vice-president of human resources for TNT, a Netherlands-based global logistics and transport organization of 160,000 employees. He was also a lecturer in the Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR) where he taught classes on how to retain high-talent executives and to prevent high-value Executive turnover. He is also an expert in the fields of developing human capital and performance management.
